Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Class

Course For Human Trafficking provides access to the Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Class, an educational program that may be required in the state of Texas by the court, a legal order, a legal representative, a parole or probation officer, an employer, or other entity. Requirements set forth in Texas HB 111, Texas HB 292, Texas HB 403, Texas HB 1272, and Texas Occupations Code § 116 as required by Texas HB 2059.

A world free of child slavery is a long-term proposition that will require multi-pronged approaches, the success of which are key to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Community Awareness To improve awareness and recognition of the problem, a few participants felt that it was important to educate the general public about the issue. They indicated that the approach needed to be holistic, involving all segments of society. They stated that this increase in awareness would also help reduce the stigma associated with the issue. One participant stated that a culture change is needed across society through increased awareness

Human Trafficking Awareness Training: How Companies Can Make a Difference

Training can help employees recognize the signs of human trafficking, which can help stop it in its tracks. Recognizing the active role training plays in combating human trafficking, many states have adopted human trafficking awareness training requirements — especially in industries particularly prone to trafficking, such as hospitality, transportation and manufacturing.

Requesting a speaker is very easy:

  1. Please review the OEW Policy to understand how we use the information gathered to completed speakers requests. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us through email.

  2. Simply complete the on-line speaker request form and press the submit button. A Speakers representative will review your request and contact you.

  3. Please note all requests will take 8 weeks to process, so please plan your event accordingly.

  4. If a response to your request for a speaker is not received within 60 days of your original request date, please contact OEW. Please note that a submission does not guarantee a OEW speaker; however, we will do our absolute best to locate a speaker for your event.

  5. If you want OEW to participate in your career day, health fair, or facilitate a handwashing demonstration at your community, organization, or school event, please fill out this Community Relations form instead:
